Suicide Awareness and Prevention
The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) is a collaboration of NHS trusts, organisations and individuals who are all committed to suicide prevention in the UK and beyond. Their aim is to improve the support available to people contemplating suicide, and a key way they do this is by offering and promoting free suicide awareness and prevention training.
ZSA provide a range of awareness e-Learning options, which provide a better understanding of the signs to look out for and the skills required to approach someone who is struggling, whether that be through social isolation or suicidal thoughts.
The ‘gateway’ module only takes 10 minutes to complete and will provide you with an understanding of how to recognise the warning signs and support someone that could be contemplating suicide. The module is aimed at people from all walks of life – not just clinicians and other healthcare workers – and will help better prepare people to help friends, loved ones, colleagues or family members that may be considering taking their own life.
