Here’s some frequently asked questions about the EAP:

All calls are confidential between you and the counsellor or advisor
The only exception is where there is serious risk of harm to you or others
In those circumstances, the counsellor will always seek guidance before breaching confidentiality
Who can use the service?
The service is available to all staff employed by LSCft and their immediate families (those living in the same house as you).
Does the service just help with stress?
No, Health Assured can also provide additional support with a variety of personal matters, such as:
Personal legal information
Tax support
Family issues – including childcare and eldercare
Housing and tenancy concerns
Bereavement or loss
Relationships and marital changes
Medical information
Critical incident support
What is involved with the critical incident support?
The Health Assured trauma-trained counsellors focus on solving an immediate and identifiable problem enabling you to return to your daily routine quicker. A new online trauma programme has been introduced by Silvercloud called First Steps in Trauma Recover. This programme offers psychoeducation to support you to understand your trauma response. The programme also contains a range of techniques known to be helpful in the management of common symptoms that can result from traumatic experiences such as nightmares.
If you require follow-up support, they can provide counselling at locations right across the country.
